Week 1 Progress: Building a Better Franchise Listing Experience
During the week of February 10–14, we made significant progress in laying the groundwork and enhancing the user experience for our franchise listing platform. We began on Monday by setting up the basic repository for the project and successfully deploying the initial build to the QA environment. This foundational step ensured that all necessary configurations were in place, establishing a solid structure to support future development and streamline the team's workflow.
On Tuesday, we focused on improving data presentation by implementing pagination functionality along with a loading element. This update was aimed at managing large volumes of franchise data more efficiently, providing users with a smoother and more responsive browsing experience while avoiding information overload.
Wednesday’s development introduced key visual indicators Popular, New, Emerging, and Featured to each franchise listing. These tags were designed to help users quickly identify standout or trending franchises, improving discoverability and enhancing overall user interaction with the platform.
By Thursday, we finalized the layout and visual design of the franchise list section. We refined alignment, spacing, typography, and responsiveness to ensure a clean, professional look across various devices. These improvements not only enhanced readability but also contributed to a consistent and polished interface.
To wrap up the week on Friday, we created and configured individual brand pages that allow users to explore detailed information about each franchise. These pages are designed to be scalable, providing a more in-depth look into each brand without overwhelming the main listing. This addition greatly improves the user journey, enabling seamless transitions between high-level browsing and detailed content exploration.
